London Literary Thursdays

About the Event
London Literary Thursdays is a recurring literary event held in the heart of the United Kingdom’s capital, dedicated to Polish non-fiction literature. Our aim is to bring closer to the Polish community in the UK the works of authors who depict contemporary Poland — its daily life, challenges, successes, and social and cultural changes. In an intimate atmosphere, we discuss books that not only tell stories but also provoke reflection about the country we come from.

Guests and Themes
We invite both established and emerging authors of non-fiction — reporters, journalists, researchers, and creators — who describe Poland as it is today. We talk about important topics: from social and economic issues, through politics and culture, to the stories of ordinary people. The meetings offer the opportunity to ask questions to the authors, engage in discussions among enthusiasts, and deepen knowledge about Poland as seen through the eyes of its inhabitants.

Mission and Values
Our goal is to promote reading in the Polish language among the Polish diaspora and to raise awareness of issues related to contemporary Poland. We want London Literary Thursdays to become a place of meetings, exchange of ideas, and inspiration — both for those living daily life in the UK and for everyone interested in Poland. We believe that non-fiction literature can be a bridge connecting different communities, generations, and experiences.
The London Literary Thursdays program is supported by the Senate of the Republic of Poland through the fund for supporting the Polish diaspora.
